A new chapter in my hobby journy

 Well, I suppose it's time. 

I've followed and enjoyed hobby blogs all my life. It started with Major General Tredmorden Rederring's Colonial Era Wargaming's Page and  Jackson Gamers Home Page way back in 2004 or 05. It was these blogs that light the great flame in me as a young teen, that interest in hobby wargaming, miniature soldiers and small scale war machines that's continued all my life.

I remember those days well, pouring over these hobby blogs along side blogs on pre-dreadnought battleships since lost to history, mostly during computer lab in school and then back home late into the night. I pined for those soldiers then, wished I could afford them, wished I could paint them, wished I had people to play with them with. The years have passed. I've got the soldiers, I've become a fairly okay miniature painter. And while I don't have that many people to really play the games with, I have a budding hobby group. 

So then now what? I've decided I'd like to give this hobby blogging a go, in part to keep me motivated, in part to record and document my works and projects, and in part to maybe inspire some foolish youngen some day to pick up a brush and get painting. 

Here goes nothing! Let's see where this blog takes us. It's just me, my fishyfish, and my models. I hope to post my projects, work in progress updates, the occasional wargame after action report. Stay tuned! This blog will cover all sorts of miniature madness, but my primary focuses are as follows. 

-Games such as: Bolt Action, Fist Full of Lead, DnD, and maybe the occasional WH40k. 

-Eras, timelines, and settings such as: "Pulp" Interwar - Back of Beyond action in Central Asia and Warlord China, and German Civil War and Post-Imperial Troubles in Europe. WWII - mostly Bolt Action in the Pacific Theater. Plus a hodge-podge of War of the Roses, Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Eldritch Horror. 

It should be fun! I look forward to getting "Stuck In" in the new year!

I've been working on all this in earnest since last August, terrain, lore, armies, everything organized for Fistful of Lead, and Beyond the Empire. The Yellow Locust Gang

The countryside of Xiǎo Yú, like with most Chinese provinces during this era, is plagued with bandit gangs. Ranging from small ragtag groups of thugs to large organized but poorly disciplined hosts they are countless and unending. A constant stream of destitute peasants, craven deserters, and those just looking for an easy meal keep these gangs flush with manpower. Two major gangs prowl Xiǎo Yú, one of which is known as "The Yellow Locust Gang." Yellow representing power and prosperity in traditional Chinese culture, and locust referring to the gangs ability to lay waste to all they descend on. They are lead by "Four Eyes" Chin, a smart and capable man believed to once have been a junior officer in the now destroyed Anhui Clique. Chin's nickname stems from his poor eyesight, the man needing glasses to see beyond the end of his nose. Armored Rail Cruiser "The Angry Dragon"

 Known as The Angry Dragon to the locals and the common soldiery, and the Armored Cruiser to most military commanders in the province, this train is a coveted and feared weapon, often fought over by all sides. At one point or another the train has steamed alongside all the major powers in the province, from the Japanese, to the Warlords, the Nationalists and even the White Russians. Shifting sides when captured or overran, no commander is willing to scuttle her, they rather squabble than take her out of play. She may be ours this week, theirs the next, the Bolsheviks the following, but by next month, she'll be ours again! 6 weeks at most..   Under Japanese Command, patrolling somewhere deep in the countryside.
